EXAMINING THE LINK BETWEEN EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AND JOB SATISFACTION: A PEARSON CORRELATION AND LINEAR REGRESSION ANALYSIS
Abstract
This study explores the relationship between emotional intelligence and job satisfaction among employees. Using a quantitative, cross-sectional survey, data was collected from 140 participants through a self-designed questionnaire in the Likert scale format. The results suggest a significant positive correlation between emotional intelligence and job satisfaction, and that emotional intelligence is a multidimensional construct. The study concludes that management should focus on developing emotional intelligence measures to improve employees' job satisfaction. While this study contributes to the literature in areas such as workplace performance, employee wellbeing, motivation, social behavior, and personality, it has some limitations. These include its descriptive nature and the weaknesses of the tools used for analysis. Future research should consider investigating causal relationships and control variables such as gender and age
