ASSESSING CHINA'S PATH TO GREEN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT: INSIGHTS FROM PROVINCIAL PANEL DATA
Abstract
In response to pressing global concerns about economic recession and climate change, this study delves into the evolving landscape of the green economy. Highlighting key reports from the World Bank and the World Meteorological Organization, which underscore the urgency of transitioning to low-carbon energy and harmonizing with nature, we turn our attention to China's ambitious pursuit of green development.
China's strategic shift towards green, low-carbon, and circular economic systems, as outlined in the white paper "China's Green Development in a New Era," represents a noteworthy commitment to sustainable practices. However, this paper recognizes persistent challenges, including economic imbalances, supply-demand disparities, and environmental degradation, necessitating innovative solutions for achieving long-term green economic growth.
Drawing on a comprehensive review of existing research, we analyze the green economy from both macro and micro perspectives. Scholars have explored diverse aspects of green economic growth, including its relationship with regional development, resource management, AI, financial policies, and more. This research highlights the multidimensional nature of green economics and underscores its transformative potential for society.
As the theoretical framework of the green economy continues to evolve and adapt to contemporary challenges, this study seeks to contribute to the ongoing discourse by providing insights into emerging opportunities and pathways for the advancement of green economic development.
