Abstract

This research explores the relationship between technology, trade, and environmental sustainability in Nigeria, highlighting the need for innovative solutions to address environmental challenges such as deforestation, water scarcity, pollution, and biodiversity loss. Draws on international case studies to illustrate how advanced technologies and sustainable practices can be used to address these issues. Key lessons from Denmark’s wind energy, Israel’s water management, Germany’s energy transition, Singapore’s smart city initiatives, and Costa Rica’s biodiversity conservation demonstrate the potential of renewable energy, efficient water management, smart infrastructure, and sustainable tourism for environmental sustainability and economic growth. This study also emphasizes the need to integrate environmental considerations into trade policies and regulatory frameworks to ensure sustainable development. It recommends adopting global best practices, strengthening institutional frameworks, promoting public-private partnerships, investing in R&D, and enhancing public awareness and community involvement.
