CUSTOMIZED TECHNOLOGICAL SOLUTIONS: SEMANTICALLY ENRICHED AUGMENTED REALITY APPLICATIONS

Abstract

In today's information era, the rapid growth of societies has created a demand for real-time interactive access to dynamically changing information and data. The digitalization of everyday life and the widespread adoption of smart devices and technologies have resulted in the generation of vast amounts of heterogeneous data. With advancements in technology, computer systems and smart devices have become more powerful, equipped with intelligent sensors and actuators, and capable of interacting and communicating over the Internet. This enables them to efficiently retrieve, store, process, and display large volumes of diverse data.

Augmented reality (AR) is a contemporary technology that leverages these advancements and the abundance of data to create more interactive and powerful ways of modifying, interacting with, and augmenting environments. AR provides users with access to rapidly flowing information integrated into a real-time and spatial framework, making it "alive" and meaningful. Users can simultaneously interact with real objects and digital content, offering smart solutions to facilitate daily tasks and enhance their overall experience. By integrating semantic web, knowledge graphs, and deep learning with AR, the efficiency and potential of AR applications can be significantly improved.

The main contribution of this study is the presentation of a novel system architecture for developing semantically enriched AR applications. It also showcases and assesses an AR application developed based on this architecture. The application aims to enhance learning, facilitate daily life, and improve the user experience by providing new ways for users to interact with virtual and real environments. The study covers the technologies of AR, semantic web, knowledge graphs, and deep learning, along with relevant research. It describes the suggested system architecture and the development and implementation processes of the AR application. The study presents the results of an experiment conducted to assess the usability and functionality of the application. Finally, it discusses potential future work and highlights the key findings of the study.
