DEVELOPMENT OF AN ALGORITHM FOR INDIVIDUALIZED SPHERICAL OCCLUSION SURFACE RESTORATION FROM RADIOLOGICAL DICOM DATA
Abstract
This retrospective cohort study aimed to identify predictors of mortality and evaluate survival among COVID-19 patients in the city of Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo. Data was collected from hospitals in Lubumbashi covering the period from July to September 2021. The study identified age, male gender, and diabetes as potential predictors of mortality among COVID-19 patients in Lubumbashi. The survival rate decreased by 20% within 20 days of admission, with patients aged 40-59 having a survival rate of 15%, while patients aged 60 and above had a rate of 23%. Male patients had a lower survival rate than female patients (approximately 20% compared to 15%). Patients with diabetes had a survival rate of approximately 15% compared to 25% for those without diabetes. Comorbidities such as hypertension, diabetes, stroke, and respiratory diseases further decreased the survival rate among COVID-19 patients. These findings suggest that age, male gender, and diabetes are potential predictive factors for COVID-19 mortality in Lubumbash
