Abstract

The power supply system of diesel engines plays a pivotal role in ensuring their efficient and reliable operation by fulfilling vital functions such as fuel preservation, water and impurity purification, fuel dispensation, and maintaining optimal engine performance during various operational conditions. However, the conventional mechanical systems of diesel engines encounter challenges when utilizing biofuels and their blends. The utilization of biofuels often results in reduced injection pressure, compromised fuel atomization quality, and the deposition of larger fuel droplets, subsequently diminishing engine efficiency. Addressing these issues necessitates the development of an adaptive dual-circuit diesel power system tailored to respond to engine load and speed variations, thereby mitigating the impact of biofuel incorporation.

This research proposes the creation of an advanced power supply system that operates seamlessly alongside the diesel engine, preserving core power and torque outputs while accommodating the integration of biofuels. Extensive exploration is vital, given that the transition to biofuels necessitates maintaining engine performance without compromising environmental considerations. A solution to this complex challenge is an adaptive dual-circuit diesel power system that dynamically adjusts its parameters based on the engine's operating conditions.

To explore this concept, the study employs computational simulations that model the fuel supply and mixture formation processes within diesel engines. Mathematical models are powerful tools for investigating these intricate processes, offering insights into the effects of various parameters on fuel injection, atomization, and combustion. The study particularly focuses on the enhancement of mixture formation in diesel engines featuring both semi-separable and inseparable combustion chambers. The primary strategies for improving this process involve elevating fuel injection pressure and increasing the number of spray nozzle openings, both of which impact critical factors like spray length, spray width, jet opening angle, and spray dispersion.

The proposed research aims to contribute to the development of a sustainable and efficient solution for incorporating biofuels into diesel engines, thereby reducing their environmental impact while maintaining or even enhancing overall engine performance.
