Abstract
This research focuses on Bandikhon district, situated within the Surkhandarya region, delving into its geographical, agricultural, and economic attributes. With an area of 0.20 thousand square kilometers, Bandikhon district is flanked by Kumkurgan, Kyzyriq, Zharkurgan, Sherabad, and Boysun districts. Boasting a population exceeding 75,000 inhabitants in 2019, the district's economy is predominantly agrarian in nature. The district's land distribution encompasses 70% irrigated cropland, 27.5% pastures, and 2.5% arable land. The agricultural landscape is dominated by cotton cultivation, supplemented by cereal crops, viticulture, and horticulture. The intricate economic fabric includes 6 collective farms, 46 farmers and farms, and 5 joint-stock companies dedicated to animal husbandry. Moreover, 22 private small enterprises, 11 mills, 40 private shops and kitchens, and 6 objuvoz contribute to the district's economic dynamism.
An essential arterial route, the Sherabad-Denov highway, traverses the Bandikhon district. Notably, the district hosts a branch of the Republican Horticulture, Vineyard, and Winery Corporation named after Schroeder. Of significance, Bandikhon wheat commands premium prices in markets, often reaching 1.5-2 times the standard rates. Additionally, the Bandikhon district is recognized for its Hisori sheep, which attain weights of 180-200 kg.
The pivotal objective of this study is to formulate comprehensive maps encompassing agriculture and clustering activities within Bandikhon district. These maps serve as valuable repositories of information and databases, underpinning economic strategies, export-import policies, and optimization efforts. Given the volatile nature of the economic landscape, characterized by human-induced fluctuations, these maps serve as foundations for regional project implementation and the delineation of agricultural goods and products. Visual representations of ecological conditions, past, present, and future, are facilitated through these maps, offering insights through color-coded depictions and probability assessments.
By harnessing the power of these maps, an expansive panorama of the region's economic and agricultural facets unfolds. These tools offer unprecedented insights into the Bandikhon district's evolution, presenting an opportunity for stakeholders to comprehend the intricacies of this dynamic region.
