Abstract

In the era of social media dominance, this study explores the transformative impact of these platforms on individual and collective voices in the workplace. Through a comprehensive examination encompassing employees, employers, and unions, this paper delves into the changing dynamics spurred by social media. Drawing insights from case studies and existing research, two critical findings emerge:

Firstly, social media has empowered employees by providing them with an extended reach and real-time communication channels for individual voices. It fosters an environment that encourages employees to express their ideas and actively participate in organizational decision-making, heralding a new era of employee engagement and influence.

Secondly, in the realm of collective bargaining, social media complements traditional avenues of communication, amplifying the voices of unions and making them more accessible. This shift has implications for the emergence of disputes, presenting both challenges and opportunities for unions to navigate in this digital landscape.

The proliferation of social media is a global phenomenon, with billions of users worldwide, signifying its pervasive influence. As organizations increasingly incorporate social media into their workplaces, it serves as a vital tool for enhancing intra-organizational communication. This research aims to bridge the gap in existing literature by examining how the growing use of social media has reshaped workplace voice mechanisms, offering fresh insights into the evolving dynamics of employee expression and influence
