MALARIA-INDUCED HAEMOSTATIC CHANGES IN SEMI-URBAN AREAS
Abstract
Malaria persists as a major public health issue in endemic regions, impacting numerous physiological parameters, including haemostasis. This study explores the haemostatic parameters in malaria-infected patients from a semi-urban area within a malaria-endemic region. By analyzing these parameters, the research aims to improve the understanding of malaria's effect on blood clotting mechanisms and identify potential haemostasis-related complications. Blood samples from diagnosed malaria patients were collected and assessed for key haemostatic markers. The results indicate alterations in several haemostatic parameters, suggesting a link between malaria infection and disrupted blood clotting processes. These findings highlight the necessity of monitoring haemostatic parameters in malaria management and lay the groundwork for further research into mitigating haemostasis-related complications in malaria-infected individuals
