PSYCHOLOGICAL RESILIENCE AS A MEDIATOR BETWEEN COGNITIVE DISTORTIONS AND ADOLESCENT WELL-BEING: AN INVESTIGATION OF SEX AS A MODERATED VARIABLE
Abstract
This study investigated the relationship between cognitive distortions, psychological resilience, and subjective well-being in adolescents, focusing on psychological resilience as a mediator and sex as a moderated variable. A total of 447 adolescents participated in the study, and data was collected using three scales. Results showed a structural association between cognitive distortion, adolescents' well-being, and psychological resilience, with psychological resilience partially mediating the relationship between cognitive bias and adolescent well-being. However, sex was not found to have a moderated effect as a mediator. The study highlights the importance of using integration models such as positive cognitive-behavioral therapy to promote psychological well-being in adolescents by considering their strengths and sources of resilience.
